Ardlogie Guest House is located in a quiet road, where there is plenty of on street parking, as well as some parking on our driveway.
We have 5 guest bedrooms, all with en suite facilities and everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Children aged 5 and over welcome. Click on individual rooms in the Accommodation section for more information and images or visit the gallery for larger images. All our rooms are clean, comfortable and warm. They are all fitted with quality local pine furniture.
All rooms have tea & coffee making facilities, flat screen digital TV's and hairdryers. An iron/ironing board is available on request.
Guests are welcome to relax in our garden patio or picnic area. Breathe in the fresh air and watch the wildlife in our rear garden - rabbits, red squirrels, pheasants, osprey flying over, pine martin and deer are all seen at different times of the year. There is also a large decking area with jacuzzi hot tub which guests are welcome to use free of charge.
For guests with laptops, phones, etc, Ardlogie is 'WiFi' enabled. This is free of charge for guests.
The Old Bridge Inn is close by with its log fire, cosy bar, live music and great atmosphere, serving a modern Scottish menu. This is just a few minutes walk from Ardlogie, as is the centre of Aviemore, where you will find a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. We are also close to the railway station and bus stops.
Ardlogie is a non-smoking guest house.
A little bit about Ardlogie and your hosts......
Ardlogie (which means 'high of the hollow' in Gaelic) is one of a pair of houses built at the same time (1909) and facing the River Spey. This means the front door and guest entrance is in what most people would consider to be the back garden. This way of building is not unusual in the Highlands and indeed is common along this road.
There are some interesting building touches related to where we are...e.g. the insulation between the ground and first floors consists of clinker, obtained from the railway yards when the house was built!
The main house was extended some 20 years ago to provide owners accommodation and extra room in some of the public rooms such as the Breakfast room. The timber Bothy (used for self catering) has been rebuilt by the previous owners in 2010.
An aerial photo of the house before all this work can be seen in the Breakfast Room.
We bought this business in April 2014, and have since discovered that Ardlogie has been a B&B or Guest House, probably since the 1970s and that we are the 6th couple to be running Ardlogie as a business in that time. Some of the family that first started Ardlogie as a business still live in the Aviemore area.
We are Kevin & Kirsty, originally from Edinburgh; we first discovered the area as children while on holiday with our families. We continued to visit the area after meeting in 1999, before later deciding to move here to live and work ourselves.
